Lanes Cars have had the pleasure of being able to rebuild this very historically important matching numbers E Type which
was manufactured by Jaguar Cars of Coventry on 12th of October 1961 and was used as their display Jaguar E Type for their stand at the Scottish Motor Show in the November of 1961.
This E Type is just one of a 133 -Right Hand Drive – Flat Floor- Fixed Head Coupes that were manufactured by
Jaguar Cars at Brown Lane Coventry in 1961 and whilst this is an extremely rare example it does not have exterior bonnet locks as this feature was discontinued with Chassis number 86004 for RHD/FHC that were manufactured by Jaguar Cars in 1961 but does have the factory welded bonnet louvres.
There is a large history file which accompanies this historically important E Type which includes a copy of its original buff logbook and when this E Type was last sold its original cracked Engine Block and a Moss Gear Box were also both supplied with the vehicle and has only had a total of 6 owners from new.
Lanes Cars have managed to save its original engine which we had X Rayed and were able to successfully repair and
rebuild, which is now reinstalled in its rightful place at the heart of this S1 3.8 FHC E Type, finished it in its original exterior colour of Opalescent Silver Grey and our intention is to re-trim its interior in light blue as per its original colour combination and is now ready to be enjoyed.
