First manufactured in November 1955 by Jaguar Cars Coventry this XK140 Jaguar LHD which was one of only 1965 XK140 FHC made for export, & retains its original 3.4 – 6 cylinder Jaguar engine & was first registered in America to its first owner Mr E Fredlund in New York in February 1956.
Having had only 2 owners in the last 55 years and purchased by its last owner of 27 years in 1996 and imported back to the UK from its former US owner of 28 years, who achieved concours winning success with his body off restoration XK140 at the North California America Jaguar Club events in 1994.
In 2005, the car underwent a mechanical overhaul by Guy Broad XK Specialists, which included an engine rebuild and cylinder head conversion for unleaded fuel. Additionally, the following upgrades were also supplied and fitted, including Power Assisted Steering, 5-speed Gearbox, Front Disc Brake conversion, and a High-performance Radiator with an electric cooling fan and was also re-trimmed in 2005.
Since then, the previous owner has covered a few thousand miles and entrusted the maintenance of the XK140 to Draysons of Kensington from 1997 to 2017. In 2014, a new clutch was fitted.
Over the past 27 years, the car has been garaged in Central London and primarily used for Jaguar events, rallies, and occasional outings both here in the UK and Europe with one of it’s last Jaguar rallies attending the XK70 year celebrations in June 2018.
As a result, it has a lovely original patina and continues to drive exceptionally well, benefitting still from its modern-day upgrades supplied and fitted by Guy Board XK Specialists significantly enhancing the performance, reliability, and overall driving experience, whilst still preserving its classic aesthetic.
